Jason turns 31 today, happy birthday my love! Short of salvation, Jason is the greatest God-given blessing in my life! Therefore, I can think of no greater honor today than sharing a few words of tribute for him! Honey, here are just a few reasos why I love you...
1. Jason loves Jesus: His greatest passion, his greatest love, and his greatest purpose in life is Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior! Jesus has taken care of his greatest need, his need to be rescued from his sins.
Hebrews 12:1,2 - Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every
encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Jason's eyes are fixed on Jesus! His affections are fixed on Jesus! He is in love with his glorious Savior who first loved him!
2. Jason loves and leads me with a desire to please the Lord: I can't imagine how hard it is to lead a wife and lead her well. Without an underlying desire to persevere in this to please the Lord, I can see how many men give up. Jason leads me and works hard at it, because he loves God and God is at work in him. He cares more about my spiritual well-being than my happiness, knowing that true joy will come from my relationship with my Savior. He inspires me to love God more and to love His purposes for my life more. He helps me to see the joy and gospel purposes in my seasons of life. Through many talks, he has helped me fall more and more in love with God's word. Through countless blind moments he has helped me to see the gospel and God's great love.
Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her
My heart is filled with thanksgiving when I think about how you love and serve me! I love you and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you!
3. Jason loves and leads his family with a desire to please the Lord: Someone once said that the greatest purpose in parenting is to prepare your children for the judgement day. With all humility, Jason is striving to prepare Abby and Katie for the judgement day, to teach them about God and about His gospel. From moments of correction to walks under the stars, Jason wants to express who God is and His love for them to his girls. From the mundane of life to big decisions, he is praying and thinking about how God would have him lead and what would please the Lord. Abby and Katie will have so much to learn about the character of God by watching their Daddy!
4. Jason loves God's church and desires to teach his family to love the church: If Christ's greatest passion is His church, than Jason will live his life and lead his family with a purpose to live in and build God's church! God is building His church, God is sanctifying His bride, God created us to live in and to need His church, and Jason has purposed to lead his family in God's purposes. Thank you honey, even when it is not easy!
5. Jason is humble and teachable:From the very beginning, you have been markedly teachable. Always willing to recieve correction, you embrace it and, through the help of the Holy Spirit, strive to change. At the foundation, you understand that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. You are not suprised by your sin and are joyful in your understanding that God has promised to sanctify you! Your example gives me hope to trust in God's promises!
6. Jason makes me laugh: For those of you that know him, he is downright funny! His quirky sense of humor provides endless entertainment. I catch myself giggling as I think about raising a family and spending the rest of my life with you and your jokes!
I love you and am so thankful for you! May God bless us with many more years to enjoy His goodness together!

Thanks Tiff for earnestly seeking to encourage and care for me. Each of those points flow from the first one. Thanks for recognizing Jesus as my strenght and hope first. It is a joy to grow with you and an honor to raise kids with you and a blessing to serve the Lord with you.
I love you.
